Arron is currently occupying the position of Chief Oil Sector Officer at the African Natural Resources Centre of the African Development Bank. As part of his duties, he advises African countries on policies and strategies to maximise the benefits of exploitation of their petroleum resources.
He previously held numerous positions in research institutions, petroleum industry and strategic management consulting.
As a researcher at the Energy Research Centre of the Lower Saxony in Germany, he evaluated reservoirs and wells for CO2 sequestration and enhanced oil & gas recovery with numerical reservoir simulation and integrated assets modelling.
He worked as Production Optimization Engineer with BJ Services West Africa, Senior Reservoir Engineer, Qualified Reserves Assessor with RWE DEA Germany and DEA Egypt Branches and Business development Manager and Partner in Charge of Afro Petro & Business Solutions . As production optimisation and senior reservoir engineer, he supervised and contributed to the elaboration of several plan of development and exploration & appraisal drilling for offshore and onshore oil and gas fields. He also contributed in analysing qualitative and quantitative aspects of Production Sharing Agreements and participated in contract negotiation. In Afro Petro & Business Solutions, he developed country entry strategies for Cameroon and Nigeria. He also initiated and supervised development of local content stakeholders’ engagement platform and a production reporting platform to harmonise reporting from different operators.
He worked in several countries including Germany, Norway, Egypt, Nigeria and Cameroon.
He holds a PhD and MSc in Petroleum Engineering from the Clausthal University of Technology in Germany. He also holds an MBA from Robert Gordon University in the UK. Prior to those, he obtained a first degree in Petrochemical Engineering from the Rivers State University of Sciences and Technology in Nigeria.
